Films on the Green @ Columbia: a special outdoor screening of Jules and Jim.

September 5th, 2012

François Truffaut’s classic film, Jules and Jim (1962, 105 min), an iconic film of the Nouvelle Vague, will be presented outdoors on the steps of Low Memorial Library. The 2012 Films on the Green Festival, organized by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and NYC Parks and Recreation, has featured free screenings this summer of French movies adapted from French and American literature.

Jules and Jim are inseparable friends who come to meet the free-spirited and capricious Catherine (Jeanne Moreau). The three become instant companions, determined to live their lives to the fullest despite the war around them. When Jules declares his love for Catherine, Jim agrees to let Jules pursue her, despite his own feelings…

In case of rain, film will be shown in the East Gallery, Buell Hall (seating limited).
